Davexa photo booth software FAQ

Helpful answers for photo booth operators, event hosts and anyone planning a Davexa setup.

What is Davexa?

Davexa is a professional photo booth platform for events such as weddings, parties and brand activations. Davexa Studio turns an iPad into the photo booth for capture, editing and printing. Davexa Connect is the iPhone companion app for supported camera and printer-roll workflows.

On which devices does Davexa run?

Davexa Studio runs on iPad and is the app used to run the photo booth. Davexa Connect runs on iPhone as the companion app for supported camera and printer-roll workflows. This split keeps the iPad focused on the guest experience while the iPhone can support the operator where needed.

How do Davexa subscription seats work?

One subscription seat gives you premium access for one iPad running Davexa Studio and one iPhone running Davexa Connect at the same time. Sign in with Apple is only needed later if you want to manage assigned devices or move your setup to different devices.

Which cameras can I use with Davexa?

Davexa Studio can use the built-in iPad camera, an iPhone connected through Davexa Connect, and wired USB cameras. USB cameras must be UVC-compatible, which includes webcams and many modern professional cameras. For the most reliable setup, connect them through USB-C or a suitable USB hub. This lets you choose the camera workflow that suits the booth and event.

How do I connect a printer to Davexa Studio?

Davexa Studio offers two ways to connect a printer. Use AirPrint for compatible printers on the local network, or use SFTP to send print files to a print server. Davexa includes a guided setup for WCM Plus print servers, while custom SFTP servers can also be connected. Test the printer, paper format and network before the event so your workflow is ready when guests arrive.

How can guests receive their photos?

Davexa currently shares finished photos in two ways: guests can receive a temporary QR code link or use AirDrop where it is available. SMS and email delivery are not currently built into Davexa. QR links are intended for short-term collection, not as a permanent online gallery.

Can I see how many sheets are left on my printer roll?

Yes. With Davexa Connect, you can read the NFC chip on supported printer rolls and keep track of roll information and scan history. On many rolls, the NFC chip is built into the small yellow-grey plug on the colour roll. Chip availability depends on the printer-roll manufacturer and model.

Does Davexa work offline?

Yes, the core photo booth experience can continue without an internet connection, including capture, review and printing in a configured setup. Features that deliver media to guests or rely on online services need a connection when they are used. For important events, it is still sensible to test the full setup in advance.

Can I control Davexa remotely from a website?

No. Davexa does not currently offer a website or web dashboard for remotely controlling a photo booth. Session setup and operation happen in the Davexa apps, so the person running the booth stays in control at the device.

Can I customise the photo booth experience?

Yes. You can prepare templates, layouts, stickers, guest-facing disclaimers and session settings before an event. This gives each booth a consistent look and lets the experience fit the event, client or brand without changing the basic workflow for guests.

How does Davexa work at an event?

A typical event starts with preparing a session, camera, printer and template. During the event, guests take their photos, review the result and can retake when needed. The operator can then print the finished images and offer the configured QR or AirDrop sharing option. The workflow is designed to stay simple for guests while giving operators control over the setup.

Where can I get help with Davexa?

Start with the Davexa Support page for setup help and practical guidance. Davexa Connect can also export diagnostic logs from Settings when the support team needs more detail about a problem. Including those logs helps the team understand the setup and investigate faster.
